John Lane Oration role a great privilege

Sam Bailey felt a great sense of privilege to be the 2018 John Lane Orator for the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM), which allowed he and Jenny to travel to New Zealand to speak on August 18 at those members' conference in Tauranga; then to the Northern Territory to speak on August 25 at the Australian conference at the Alice Springs Convention Centre. Sam said he saw a huge contrast in seasons, from green lush fields, cloudy skies and pouring rain in NZ to dry red dust and clear skies in Alice Springs. Sam said, "A highlight of the John Lane Oration role was the ASAM dinner on the runway at Alice Springs Airport, which was an Australian first for aviation. And of course we had the compulsory "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" inspired entertainment which was brilliant and perfect for the occasion."
