Unique resort for people with spinal injuries

An enthusiastic and committed group of Collaroy residents on the Northern Beaches of Sydney have created a world first in a unique, ground-breaking five-star resort facility for people with spinal cord injuries on the beach front. Called Sargood on Collaroy, the resort includes 17 apartments with state-of-the-art access facilities that allow people with spinal cord injuries to learn and get respite in a purpose-designed environment. Sam Bailey was amongst the speakers at the Long Reef Golf Club Sports Luncheon on July 13 to help raised funds for the Sargood Foundation. The lunch raised $20,000. Sam and Jenny stayed at Sargood on Collaroy for the first time at the time of the luncheon and couldn't speak highly enough of the centre. Sam urged anyone with a spinal injury to consider visiting. "If you know anyone whith a spinal injury please let them know about this amazing facility which is changing the lives of people living with spinal injuries and their families. It's exposing them to the latest technologies they can use in their own homes, access to medical experts and advice; and opportunities to try all types of activities including surfing and golfing. And the staff are amazing!"
