Cotton industry expands in southern NSW

Cotton growers in southern NSW celebrated with the area's Southern Valleys Cotton Growers Association Bi-annual awards dinner at Griffith on July 24. Sam and Jenny Bailey (pictured above with some of the atttendees) were the guest speakers for the hugely successful event that attracted record numbers. It was a reflection of the growing success of the cotton industry in the Southern Valleys area, where award winners produced yields rivalling their more northern colleagues. The area is experiencing a huge expansion into cotton production in what was traditionally a rice growing region.
