Ambassadorial role takes Sam to north west NSW

Sam Bailey was the Australia Day Ambassador in the north west town of Walgett on January 26, where he and Jenny had a fabulous day with more than 100 locals who packed the local sporting Club for the celebrations despite the heat. Sam's Australia Day address, in which he talked about how lucky he was to be living in a country where there was a Royal Flying Doctor Service to pick him up after he suffered a spinal injury in a car crash when he was 19; a spinal unit where people dedicate their lives to helping people like him; and a country that allows people with disabilities to achieve so much. His talk inspired a standing ovation. Sam then helped recognise the Walgett Shire Council's citizens and sportspeople of the year.
