About Sam

Freedom

Sam’s first “mobility” around the farm was a Honda Odyssey. It was a lot of fun, but limited in where it could go. He found true freedom on a four-wheel bike. A small, removable platform, similar to a slide board, allows Sam to get onto the four-wheeler which is his “legs” around the farm. In recent years he has also purchased a Yamaha Wolverine side-by-side, which he also accesses using a small, removable platform.

Farming

Sam and his wife Jenny run a farm in North West NSW. A hoist allows Sam to get into machinery, including a tractor, ride-on mower, a JCB skid steer and Front-End Loader, so he can help with many tasks around the farm.

Sam flying ultralight

Flying

Learning to fly an Ultralight was Sam’s very own personal “climb” to the top of Kosciusko, when he topped that “mountain” he knew anything was possible. Helifirst is Sam’s next personal mission…(link to Helifirst)
Sam’s next goal is to become the first quadriplegic in the world to fly a helicopter and use it to inspire children to follow their dreams, no matter what obstacles they encounter. (Again link to Helifirst).

You don't need wings to fly...
You just need a whole lot of grit!
